Abstract: This paper Covers an overview of different Jute Based Product Finishing for their application in Selective areas of Technical Textiles as an output from our long term multiple research. It gives an insight of Chemical Texturization of Jute, light Fast Bleaching of Jute with uv absorbers, Eco Friendly /Light fast dyeing and printing of jute (required in home textiles) for both synthetic and natural dyeing with bio mordant/double mordant and then continues with relevant important functional finishing of jute fabrics for enhancing its uses in different technical textiles. This paper shows that besides conventional Uses of Jute in Packaging textiles, its diversified uses as Jute based technical textiles such as (i) Protective fire retardant textiles as cover fabric in temporary structure or wall covering and as brattice cloth in mines with LOI-35-38 with optimized recipe using Boric acid +Na-Stannate/ Aluminum sulphaaaamte and Urea and also by Nano ZnO with PMS binder, (ii) as jute based Geo textile applications with UV and rot resistance finishes with Citric acid +PEG combination for protecting Canal embankment, as Jute based polymeric bituminized fabric asphault as substitute of mastic asphault in road construction, as sub-layer rot resistant reinforcing jute geo-textiles in rural roads, as weather resistant/water repellent finished jute based Agrotextiles applicable for mulching fabric, weed control fabric and nursery pot etc besides fruit net etc, as jute fibre reinforced USP resin based composites as build textiles, as eco textiles by avoiding Jute batching oil and using vegetable oil in its spinning to make food grade jute bags and also as Crease resistant jute based furnishing fabrics as home textiles viz home furnishings, table mat or door mat and floor coverings etc with appropriate chemical intervention with suitable optimized specific recipe mentioned in this paper citing required references at the end for further reading, as all the recipes and methods developed cannot be discussed here.
