Improvement of Technologies and Equipment for the Production of Woven Metal Mesh

Abstract: This paper sets the task of analysing scientific research and applied works in the field of metal weaving in order to determine the main directions of improvement of technologies and equipment in this industry.
An overview of scientific works and engineering developments in this field, carried out mainly at the Institute of Textile Industry and Fashion at Ivanovo State Polytechnic University for the period from 1970 to 2020, is presented. The works concern theoretical and applied research into the operation and modernization of various mechanisms of metal weaving machines to improve their efficiency, issues of weaving process technology and product quality.
The details, advantages and disadvantages of the main works in this field of research are shown and the trends and directions of its development are identified. It is noted that, at the moment, the attention of researchers to this field of research and an undoubtedly in-demand industry area remains at a low level.
